Coming Home / Women's Reentry Support
Coming home is only the beginning.
For women of all ages returning to their communities after incarceration.
An initiative in development · Life After the Before
Be part of what comes next
A new chapter, with real challenges
Leaving prison doesn't mean the hardest part is over.
For many women, coming home means facing another set of challenges: finding employment, securing housing, rebuilding relationships, managing finances, navigating technology, and learning how to live independently again.
Coming Home is a developing initiative of Life After the Before, created to help women navigate those challenges with practical resources, personal guidance, and a community that understands.
Coming home shouldn't mean figuring everything out alone.
Our Mission
The support we are working to build.
Coming Home helps women returning from incarceration rebuild their lives through practical, personal support. From finding stable housing and employment to navigating everyday challenges, we meet women where they are, without judgment, and help them take their next steps toward independence and stability.
Our Vision
A world where every woman returning from incarceration has access to the resources, opportunities, and support she needs to build a life of her choosing.
Women. Every adult age. A new beginning.
Who We Serve
Coming Home supports women of all ages returning to their communities after incarceration.
Although Life After the Before primarily serves women over 50, Coming Home is designed for adult women at any stage of reentry.
Our initial focus will be Massachusetts, with the possibility of expanding as resources and partnerships develop.

Our first proposed program · In development
Coming Home: Reentry Support Pilot
We're developing a practical 8-week support program to help women navigate the challenges of returning home.
The proposed pilot will focus on:
- Employment readiness: Resumes, job applications, interview preparation, and navigating employment barriers.
- Digital skills: Using email, smartphones, computers, online applications, and essential digital tools.
- Resource navigation: Finding information about housing, transportation, identification, benefits, and community services.
- Personal rebuilding: Setting goals, rebuilding confidence, developing routines, and identifying individual priorities.
The program is in development. Participation details, eligibility, schedule, and availability will be announced when confirmed.
I'm Interested in the Pilot
Why This Matters
A whole life ahead.
Women returning from incarceration often face barriers that continue long after their sentences end.
Coming Home is being developed around a simple belief: women deserve practical opportunities to rebuild their lives while being recognized as whole human beings, not defined solely by their convictions.
In Her Own Words
"When I was released, I did not know where to turn. I needed a place to stay, a way to pay for basic things, and a job."
"More than anything, Nicole treated me with respect. She never made me feel judged. She made me feel like I could start over."
A Note From the Founder
I'm building Coming Home from personal experience.
I know what it means to return home after incarceration and discover that freedom comes with challenges you didn't fully anticipate.
I also know how much determination it can take to rebuild your career, relationships, finances, and confidence.
My goal is to turn that experience into practical support for other women navigating reentry.
